Josh Norman might as well be the Kanye West of the NFL.
After four years with the Panthers, the all-pro cornerback finally got his money right when he signed a five-year, $75-million contract, including $50 million guaranteed, with the Redskins during the offseason. Now you can’t tell him anything.
Since inking the deal, the most lucrative ever for a corner, Norman has been seen and heard as much as Super Bowl MVP Von Miller this offseason. Never at a loss for words, he has taken shots at his nemesis, Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.; Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson; and analyst and former player LaDainian Tomlinson.
In a recent feature by ESPN, Norman declared himself the “the best cornerback on Earth” and slick-talked everyone from Broncos wideout Demariyus Thomas, who clapped back in legendary fashion, to NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith to Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford. He even had a few things to say about his former employer and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
As much as he’s feeling himself, Norman told TMZ he was “humbled” when asked after hearing Jay Z shout him out on “I Got the Keys” from DJ Khaled’s “Major Key” album. “One on one with the corner with no safety help/I perform like Josh Norman. I ain’t normal,” rapped Jigga alongside Future.
