FOXBORO (CBS) — Tom Brady has reintroduced himself.
For the first time of the 2016 season, Brady has made his trademark entrance at Gillette Stadium, with Jay-Z’s “Public Service Announcement” providing the musical backing.
Brady entered out of the north end of the stadium, with Jimmy Garoppolo by his side, and jogged the length of the Patriots’ sideline. In the corner of the end zone, where he normally offers a primal roar to the fans who made it into the stadium early enough for warmups, he gave a much more muted greeting to the folks gathered in “Brady’s Corner.”
Brady, 39, is making his home debut after serving his four-game DeflateGate suspension. He didn’t even make a preseason appearance at home this summer, missing both games against the Saints and Bears. He made his season debut last week against Cleveland, throwing for 406 yards and there touchdowns, and Sunday marks his home debut of the season.
The quarterback was largely reserved in his comments this week about his return to Foxboro.
“I look forward to playing every week, and certainly, this will be a fun game. It’s always pretty fun to be out there,” he said Wednesday. “We’ve got a great crowd and hopefully we give them lots of reasons to cheer. We’ve always had such great support here. It’s just a great place to play, so hopefully we can make enough plays and keep them loud all game.”
